Château Cabrières

The very best of our range, the 'Château Cabrières Blanc' and the 'Château Cabrières Rouge' are the only wines to be matured in new oak barrels.

These highly expressive wines are ideal for laying down.

Selected from older 'Clairette' vineyards and matured in new oak barrels, the 'Château Cabrières Blanc' has a fine yellow robe with hints of amber. The bouquet provides aromas of vanilla with hints of citrus fruit steeped in 'eau de vie'. The initial mellow, rounded taste in the mouth gives way to a slightly malty, sharp and woody tang. This is a wine which is perfect with all seafoods or with oyster fritters.

Created from the Syrah grape from our best vineyards, this wine is matured in new oak casks for twelve months. It has an intense garnet-red colour, with a pleasant nose typical of the grape blending vanilla, licorice and pine. In the mouth, the young dense tannins of the wine are well balanced by the smoother tannins of the oak, producing a firm taste. The nose reveals persistent aromas of red fruit dominated by the essence of licorice. The tannins present in the wine mean that it will mature with age. It is a perfect accompaniment to charlotte of wild duck.
